Discussions & Debates > Poor internet connection
Hi Theo,
We've just had a press release through from MP James Plaskitt - apparently he will be putting pressure on BT to install faster broadband in Warwick Gates. Just wondering if you'd be able to tell us what you think about this so we can put your comment in the paper?
Please feel free to email me on lucy.thomson@bullivantmedia.com.
Many thanks
Lucy

We too have a problem with the internet speed.
I have to say it does vary greatly on the estate.
I moved to the estate 4 years ago to jack cade way with speeds up to 2 mb, now we have moved further into the estate we only get 0.1 mb.
We all need to get together and voice this issue, its the only way to get anything done.

Just had my connection speed drop from a consistent 2meg to about 300kbps at most. On portia way the connection has been o.k since I finally got broadband 2 or 3 years ago but now its back to the dark ages. About time this was sorted!

Internet connection is pants. However, BT Infinity (fibre optic broadband) should be available from the end of March. Seriously considering switching. Only one small area of the estate can currently get Virgin cable and that is not likely to change anytime soon.

This is good news about fibre optic - why they ever took it out has always amazed me!

I suggest the Dr keeps taking his pills. No one on the estate has virginmedia cable.

There still seems to be large areas of the estate still without fibre, have they finished installation of the first phase of ' most profitable' cabinet upgrades leaving a large number of us on ever diminishing speeds?

I have just phoned up BT who were unhelpful to the point of being rude. I am on the Harbury Lane side of the estate and the download speed will not even let me watch You Tube videos on line. As Virgin Media is not an option I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place at the moment.

Has anyone noticed internet connection speeds dropping in the Bolingbroke drive?
Around 3 months ago I had speeds up to 2 mb and now it is down to 0.4. I'm astonished we suffer from such poor speeds, due to being so far away from the exchange. If anything surely we should be able to get Virgin fibre optic where speeds are in the region of 40 mb.
I've have lived on the estate for over 10 years and as a result have changed from provider to provider to see if I can get any better results.
I'd like to hear from others who are getting better line connection speeds and those who also have the same problem.
